Track & field: Erie's McClanahan honored as Gatorade Athlete of the Year

McClanahan transformed from an under-the-radar 4A runner as a junior to one of the state's household names last season. He also competed in a bevy of elite out-of-state meets including the Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho (he won the 400 in 48.9 seconds) the Arcadia Invitational in Los Angeles (he finished third in the 200 and 400) prior to the varsity season.
