I attended the North Coast Section Division semifinal between Berkeley and Monte Vista.
I sat next to a man who had graduated from Berkeley High School in 1986. He studied Journalism at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois and worked for Bloomberg News in Vietnam. He was introducing his son to American basketball.
Wilson La Shells (Monte Vista), who is 6-7 and 190, scored 25 points.
No. 1 Monte Vista (26-3), the defending section and state champion, will play No. 2 De La Salle on Friday at 8pm at St. Mary's College.
