On Nov. 26, 2012, (Molly) Grabill and passenger and UO runner Chris Brewer, both from the San Diego area, were traveling north on Interstate 5 in a green Subaru station wagon when McKinney threw a baseball sized piece of shale rock from the Isador Road overpass at milepost 146 near Oakland.
